Gabourey Sidibe to host SNL
It’s been confirmed that Precious star Gabourey Sidibe will host an upcoming episode of SNL.
No date has been set yet, but Gabourey will be hosting SNL sometime in the near future. Other upcoming hosts include Betty White, Jennifer Lopez, Tina Fey and Ryan Phillippe. (Ryan? Whaaa? They couldn’t do better than him?)
Despite Howard Stern saying that Gabourey will never work again because of her weight, Gabourey is proving him wrong. Not only is she hosting SNL, she has a role on Showtime’s upcoming The Big C (“C” meaning cancer) which premieres in August. She also stars in the upcoming film, Yelling at the Sky, where she plays a bully.
Good for her. I’d love to see her make it, but I also understand what Howard was getting at. Hard to make it in Tinseltown when you’re a (really) big girl…
