The Village Tavern in Scottsdale, Arizona
The Village Tavern is anything but a shanky “tavern”.
They say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, and with The Village Tavern (8787 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85253), don’t judge this phenomenal establishment by it’s name.
The food is exceptional, the drinks are outstanding and the service was impeccable.
We happened in on a Tuesday night and there was live jazz in the house. A gas fire lit the room softly and the ambiance in the place was incredibly soothing and relaxed.
I am a weirdo when it comes to restrooms. I think the restrooms say a lot about a restaurant. At the Village Tavern, they were spotless. Big points with me. I mean, who wants to get up from a magnificent meal and go to a dirty bathroom only to return to their food, after their appetite has been ruined? Not I.
We had the short ribs and mashed potatoes, which I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Village Tavern. The portions were large and had your mouth watering from the moment your plate was put in front of you. In fact, we ordered the short ribs because we saw them on someone else’s table, and after seeing them, we simply could not resist.
And the Pomegranate Cosmo? To die for.
Overall, the Village Tavern is definitely a wonderful place to visit when in Scottsdale. For the price, the service and the quality, you simply cannot get a better value.
