Mets announcer Keith Hernandez fell asleep during a game on Saturday that went into extra innings.

Before the 10th inning Keith thought he would just rest his eyes a bit and ended up falling asleep on the job. An employee came and tapped him on the shoulder to wake him. Kind of funny how the other announcer just sort of let him slit his own throat.

The Mets ended up pulling off the win against the San Fransisco Giants.

So who says baseball is boring?

In related news, Ken Griffey Jr. also fell asleep during Saturday’s game at Safeco Field against the Angels. I just happened to be there with Julia from DippedinCream.com and no sh*t, I got a foul ball. [Right] Not too bad for a girl who had enjoyed a couple heavy vodka tonics and was busy chatting with my fellow blogger girlfriend instead of watching the game, heh.

ANYWAY, Griffey reportedly went to the clubhouse to retrieve a jacket but didn’t come back. After someone checked on him two innings later, he was found sleeping in a chair. He missed his turn to pinch-hit, and Seattle media has been having a field day with it ever since. Getting old sucks, huh, Grif?
