Joran Van der Sloot confession

Joran Van der Sloot has confessed to killing a 21-year old Peruvian woman, Stephany Flores.

Van der Sloot said in his confession that he lost his temper and killed Flores after she tampered with his laptop and discovered he had been a suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance.

Van der Sloot and Flores met earlier in the evening at a casino where Flores had apparently won a large sum of money. Around 5:00am the couple made their way to Van der Sloot’s hotel room. Four hours passed before Van der Sloot was spotted by surveillance cameras leaving the room, dressed in different clothes. On his way out he asked hotel staff to not bother “his girl” who was still in the room. It was two days before Stephany Flores’ body was discovered, face down, beaten to death and her neck broken.

After killing Flores, Van der Sloot headed for Chile. He was caught five days after her disappearance. La Republica newspaper in Peru has confirmed that Joran Van der Sloot has recently confessed to the brutal murder. He is quoted as saying: “I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life.”

Van der Sloot is being held in a Peruvian prison and is being fed three hot meals a day. His room contains a bunk bed and a blanket.

If convicted Van der Sloot faces 35 years in prison.
