Kayla Manson, 13, is the accomplice of another teen, her boyfriend, Wayne Treacy, 15, who is charged with attempting to kill Manson’s best friend, Josie Ratley, 15.
It all started when Josie text messaged Wayne and told him he shouldn’t be seeing her friend. Josie and Wayne texted each other back and forth with choice words and then Josie said something about Wayne’s deceased brother, who killed himself last fall. Obviously a soft spot for the boy, and he flipped out. BAD. He attacked the girl at her school bus stop, stomping her head into the ground with steel-toed boots. She was left with massive brain damage. She only recently returned home and is having to learn everything, from her ABC’s to brushing her teeth, all over again.
Seriously sad situation here. I feel for all parties involved, honestly. This boy, obviously still in much pain from his brother’s suicide, went into a rage. I’m sure he regrets what he did, and all that anger he felt from his brother dying, he took out on the poor girl. Of course NOBODY deserves to have their head bashed in, but kids can be so cruel. They really can. Parents, please, teach your kids not to bully. Nobody wins in bullying.
On a sidenote, Kayla Manson says ‘c*nt’ twice on live TV (oops!) during the interview when telling Meredith about the text messages. About 4 minutes in. I guess no one on the Today Show (or her parents) told her she couldn’t swear on TV.
