Kathlyn Elizabeth Beatty, Warren Beatty’s daughter wants a sex change
Kathlyn Elizabeth Beatty, the daughter of Hollywood power couple Warren Beatty and Annette Benning, is preparing to have a sex change operation.
Following in the footsteps of Chaz Bono, Kathlyn, now 18, is already living her life as a man. She grooms herself and dresses like a man and attends college as a man. Kathlyn goes by the name of Stephen.
The National Enquirer is reporting that Warren is “devastated” at his daughter’s desire to have a sex change operation, but I’m not sure I am buying it. Hopefully he is supportive of his oldest child instead. What would be devastating is to not have the support of your parents while going through something like that.
I would think that something like this would initially devastate any parent, not so much that their child gender identity disorder, but that their child is suffering being in a body that they think doesn’t belongs to them. She’s very lucky that her parents have her insured, that she is getting psychological help to deal and will be able to have the surgery. So many people don’t have this kind of support or financial help, but the fact that she’s in college and getting on with her life says a lot about her families ongoing support. I think this disorder is more common that we know based on statistics.
She deserves to be happy and live in a way she doesn’t feel is a lie. Most people aren’t so lucky.
get laid?
“Thomas Beatie” is the transgendered “man” who has now given birth to two children.
What he has in common with this Beatty is that they are both quite beautiful as females (at least I think so).
Here’s Thoma Beatie, pre-op:

I think it is perfectly normal for any parent to be devastated by their child’s wish to change their gender – especially a child so young. While, yes, any parent would say they want what is best for their child, this is more than a parent would have bargained for. This is a loss, a loss of what was expected, a loss of what was perceived to have been a given (that one had a daughter, not a son), a loss of a dream or fantasy even is still a loss and parents need to grieve that loss. People should not judge these strong feelings as being ‘unsupportive’. If the parent/child bond is strong much of this can be healed but I do not think it could ever be healed 100%. Hopefully, seeing their child blossom in their new gender will help the parents heal sooner.
Wow, whoever wrote this article is incredibly insensitive. Did you even do research about transgendur people? Stephen is not a “she”, so referring to him as a “she” throughout this article is insulting & rude. Beatty is devastated about his SON having gender reassignment surgery, not his daughter. Stephen does not identify as female. You refer to him as a male, with male pronouns. So the article should read:
“Stephen Beatty, formerly Kathlyn Elizabeth Beatty, the son of Hollywood power couple Warren Beatty and Annette Benning, is preparing to have a sex change operation.
Following in the footsteps of Chaz Bono, Stephen, now 18, is already living his life as a man. He grooms himself and dresses like a man and attends college as a man.

I’m shocked & appalled that you are disrespecting Stephen’s gender by referring to him by his birth name with female pronouns.
It’s difficult for a parent because you’re seeing your kid born in their rightful body an then they feel they have to change. It’s not something you can get used to if you don’t believe in it so people shouldn’t be critical of people that don’t.
She will always be a She. It doesn’t matter what a doctor does with a knife. Research needs to be done to find a cure for people who suffer from this type of mental illness.
If my kid said ever said that they were going to change sex, I’d disown them.
