Tom Nicon commits suicide

High fashion Burberry model Tom Nicon has committed suicide after a bad breakup with his girlfriend.

Nicon’s suicide comes at the beginning of Milan Men’s fashion week.

Tom Nicon was a wildly successful model who had worked for Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss and Versace. The day he died he had attended rehearsals for a Versace show.

Fashion designer Donatella Versace spoke about Nicon’s shocking suicide: “Tom was with us on Friday morning for a final show fitting. He seemed fine and calm. He had already done three or four shows with us and he was a sweet boy. I just can’t understand why he did what he did. We would never have thought he would do something like this. When we heard the news we were all so upset and we still are all so very sad.”

Nicon had jumped to his death from his apartment in Italy. He was only 22.

    Tragic and all that but to top yourself over a girlfriend? WTF? Clearly he was not someone with very much imagination if he could not imagine things getting better… A permanent solution to a temporary problem.

    Be sure he didnt do it coz of a gf. This is just the bullshitty official version they tell u. U have no idea what the “glantz” of the modelling/show biz world hides. A big stinking shit. In other words, modelling is deluxe prostitution in disguise. Dont u think the number of topmodels who have committed suicide lately is alarming? Trying to tell smth? And always the same crappy reason: bf/gf, drugs and so on… Wake up and smell the coffee!

    Last message correct, we can never know truly why he did it ? Usually such a thing is hiding depression. His agents are very bad in Tokyo and there have been suicides here. Actually he came to Tokyo. It does not help his mind.

    It wouldn`t have been the cause just another ingredient that probably didn`t help him. The sick thing is that a lot of agencies have people within them who are a lot older than the models and therefore can easily influence and control them whilst pretending to be their best friends. Or they hire younger staff to befriend them especially in Japan. Lets face it a lot of young models are just adventurists. And visit cities knowing virtually nothing about its currency even. Its nothing different to any other job in that it is full of greed and jealousy.
