Lindsay Lohan heads to jail

Lindsay Lohan reported to court this morning to turn herself in so she may begin serving her 90-day jail sentence.

Of course she’ll only serve about three weeks due to overcrowding. She will be separated from the other inmates for her own safety, For Lohan, who apparently says she cannot stand to be alone, this won’t be easy. Lindsay will be served three meals a day, two cold and one hot.

This morning in the courtroom judge Marsha Revel instructed there be no photos or video taken of Lindsay being cuffed and led away, but I bet one of those sneaky paps snapped a photo somewhere. Heh. Something will be leaked eventually. You can bet on it.

Lindsay looked agitated and tired in court this morning, and her upper lip was looking pretty darn plump!

Outside the courthouse was an absolute zoo. Photographers and media everywhere, and one guy holding a handmade “FREE LINDSAY” sign.

Lohan was represented by her attorney Shawn Chapman-Holley, who we had heard quit the Lohan case a couple weeks ago but apparently she never filled out the papaerwork which would officially remove her from the case. So by default, she was still Lohan’s attorney.

Holley says that Robert Shapiro, who was rumored to have been considering representing Lohan, was merely a consultant to the actress. Not too sure if I believe this..

If you watch the video above you can see a cell similar to what Lindsay Lohan will be staying in. It’s pretty basic. A toilet and a flimsy bed.

A reporter for The Today Show says Dina Lohan was not present, but Michael Lohan was. What kind of mother would not show up to support her daughter on such a day? It’s just weird to me. Yes, she has a restraining order against Michael, but can’t that be worked around? Gawd, this family is SO drama.

Michael Lohan, whom Lindsay is estranged from, yelled out in court, “I love you, Lindsay!” before she was taken away in cuffs. Making it all about him, I’m sure. But hey, at least he was there.

So there you have it. No more Lindsay Lohan news for a few weeks, and to be honest with you, I think we’ll all enjoy the break.
