Janet Jackson, who once spoke out against wearing real fur, has signed on with luxury fur label Blackglama.

In her ad for Blackglama Janet proudly wears a mink coat while a caption reads: “What Becomes a Legend Most?”

In otherwords, if you are a “legend,” in this sense, someone who is uber-wealthy, extremely powerful and is world reknowned, you deserve to wear fur. Or if you just want to pretend you’re all those things then it’s OK too.

Pamela Anderson, probably one of the biggest celebrity animal rights activists out there, has spoken up about Janet Jackson and the Blackglama ad, saying: “It’s disappointing. She has spoken out against fur before. I don’t know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it’s sad.”

Past celebrities who have also represented Blackglama are Liza Minelli, Ray Charles, Diana Ross and Elizabeth Taylor.
