Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren have divorced

It’s official. Tiger Woods and ex-wife Elin Nordegren are officially divorced.

Lawyers for Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren have confirmed reports of the divorce. They released the following statement: “Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods confirmed today that they have divorced. Judgment was entered today in Bay County (Florida) Circuit Court dissolving the marriage. The Judgment provides for shared parenting of their two children.”

The following joint statement is posted on Tiger Woods’ official website:

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”

The couple’s divorce comes nine months after Tiger crashed his SUV after his alleged mistresses were discovered by Elin via text messages on his phone.

Tiger Woods committed the ultimate betrayal, deception and humiliation against Elin Nordegren and their children. A wife does not get over such ordeal in a short period of time. I think that Elin Nordegren is a woman with class, dignity and self respect and she would have never stay with a man like Tiger Woods, whom she may not respect and trust anymore. Tiger Woods seems to be a troubled man with serious character and emotional issues that appears to be long standing. Elin seems to know that the emotional demands of staying married to Tiger Woods would have been very high and not worth it. Elin has a big responsibility to herself and her two small children. I commend Elin for her wise decision, for being a caring and loving mother and for her great courage, dignity and class during this horrid time in her life. I wish them all the best!!!

I am glad for her that she has this negative relationship behind her. He betrayed her beyond belief. It would be hard to ever trust him again after what he did to her…
