Mary Bale of Coventry
The woman who dumped a cat into a bin and left it to die has been identified as Mary Bale, a bank teller from Coventry, England.
Bale was caught dumping a friendly cat into a recycling bin while walking on a sidewalk. The owner found the cat, Lola, 15 hours later.
Mary Bale was filmed on the cat owner’s surveillance video, which he had installed after his car had been repeatedly hit on the street.

Mary Bale is described by her mother, Celia, as a “cat lover,” who would most likely have animals of her own if she hadn’t a full-time job. She says of her daughter: “Her father Maurice is hospital in the moment and is very ill. I think she was just in a world of her own. We all are at the moment. Mary said she just didn’t know was possessed her, or what came over her, it’s just very strange because she cannot explain her actions at all. We’re all living on edge at moment, she doesn’t know what happened. She absolutely adores cats, she’s an animal lover, it just doesn’t make sense. We’re just hoping we can all get through this because I know a lot of people are not happy about it.”
The local police have been standing outside Mary Bale’s home in order to keep the peace. Bale is expected to be questioned by the RSPCA.
No cat lover would do something so terrible. She looked around for a long time to see if anyone was watching her. It’s really terrible that they can’t charge her with a crime for that…but I hope her community knows about her now and treats her accordingly. In fact, I hope they put her in a bin for 15 hours. Such terrible people out there!

What a load of crap. THis woman is a cruel, sadistic bitch. She knew exactly what she was doing when she threw that defenceless cat in the wheelie bin. She deserves to be dragged to a dump bin full of maggots , (because that’s what she is) and thrown in head first
I can’t wait for this woman to try explaining herself. She really would have to have more than a few screws loose to do this. I’m just glad the cat survived!

I think cats are gross. Many of us are allergic to the dry flakes that form from them licking themselves and it flaking off into the air. Disgusting creatures. I wouldn’t put it in a bin, but the owners should feel partially responsible. Keep your mangy creatures inside your own fecal saturated stinking home.

Let’s not make animal rights activists, advocates, rescues, etc look bad by coming on here and threatening or spouting off insults. Let’s try to condone ourselves like adults when expressing how we feel? Be the bigger persons? I hate what she did and I think it’s sad that someone this woman could have influence over her grandkids. I think it’s even more sad that she seemed to have nothing but horrid intentions with the way the camera shows her looking around to make sure no one saw what she did and how proud she was of herself as she strutted away. I think the owner should be able to press charges to teach her a lesson and I think I will contact Care2 to start a petition to see that that happens. Madam, you are a shame to this society, your family and human kind. I hope that Karma finds you and I’m sure it will. Shame on you and your compassionless soul.
How typical that a person likes this tries to dismiss her actions on events going on in her life. This person clearly understanding the ramification of her actions, she clearly looks around her for clearance. Hopefully she will do time for her abuse, and therapy for her actions.
Mary Bale clearly has some form of personality disorder, and her history really needs to be looked into. Other animals or people (who may be too afraid to come forward) could have been affected by this person.

Either do something like create a pole to determine if this woman should be allowed police protection or live in this neighbourhood.

An easy solution here would be to bring back capital punishment and wipe out some of the low-lifes that will never change, free up the cells for idiots like this. Remove their sky tvs and other luxury items then hopefully when people like this are in a place where no-one cares hopefully she’ll relive a little what this animal experianced.

No one seems to be reporting that poor Lola ( means sorrows btw) messed herself in the bin. A cat does not generally mess itself unless it is really scared. Cats HATE being locked anywhere. The cruelty is not fully being exposed imho. They should investigate her much more fully find out if this woman has hurt other animals and ppl even. Serial killers usually start out with animals. Of course her mother won’t say or ‘know’ anything. Parents are usually totally in the dark or denial about their children, especially things like this. I want to find out what ends up happening to her. I was totally freaked out about this. I pounded my pillows on the bed and cried into my cats fur who looks a lot like Lola, cried for all innocent loving trusting cats and animals who suffer at the hands of deranged ppl who forget about the beauty of the world.
