Survivor Nicaragua first episode recap
Survivor Nicaragua premiered tonight on CBS and this season it’s the young versus the old!
What did you think of the first episode?
So as it started, Survivor castmates were told to find the Medallion of Power. After spotting it in a tree, Brenda came up with it. Then the teams were split into their tribes, LaFlor, the young team, and Espada the older team. Host Jeff asked Brenda if she and her tribe wanted to keep the Medallion of Power – OR trade it for fishing gear and fire flint. LeFlor decided to trade it for the items.
Despite not having flints, Espada tribe had no problem starting fire thanks to Jane, who used a pair of eyeglasses to start a fire. Later in tribal council she told Jeff that she had been practicing for two months. Right off the bat I liked Jane. She recently lost her husband and would like to win the Survivor competition in order to pay off her farm. She also seems prepared and will most likely be fierce competition.
Jimmy Johnson seemed to have a target on his back from the beginning. Jimmy T. had it out for him from the get go. I’m not sure why, either. He’s really not that big of a threat. Hell, he was puking his guts out the first day.
The other person who has a traget on their back from the beginning is Kelly B. And it sucks. It seems that Survivor castmates seem to think that they couldn’t beat her in the end due to her having a prosthetic leg and getting “sympathy votes.” Personally I thought it was crap to hear them talking about that so soon in the game.
The first tribal challenge was won by LaFlor, (who arrived for the competition doing a war dance) leaving Espada to try and figure out who they were going to evict. But it wasn’t a hard decision, especially after Holly kept opening her trap during tribal council. Holly was sent packing.
