Eddie Franklin, singer Aretha Franklin’s son, beaten in Detroit
The son of Aretha Franklin, Eddie Franklin, was beaten in Detroit last night by three people.
Eddie Franklin’s girlfriend was inside a gas station when he was attacked. She says she did not witness the beating but when she came outside someone pointed her in the direction of Eddie, who was just getting up after the attack. She filed a police report.
The eyewitness says all were African Americans. The young lady was described as about 19-years-old, with short hair. She was said to be wearing blue jeans and a hoodie-type jacket. The witness describes one of the men as about six feet tall, with dreadlocks and dark skin complexion.
Eddie Franklin has since been released from the hospital and police would like to speak with him about the beating. So far he has not contacted police.
