Eddie Fisher has died

Eddie Fisher, singer, entertainer and television star, has died at the age of 82.

His daughter Tricia Leigh Fisher says he died of complications from hip surgery. Eddie Fisher died at his home in Berkeley on Wednesday.

Eddie Fisher was married to Debbie Reynolds, who he then dumped for Elizabeth Taylor, who at the time was his best friend’s widow. He married her anyway, causing a HUGE scandal. It was the 1950′s you know.

Later Taylor dumped Eddie Fisher for Richard Burton. Fisher was later married to Connie Stevens (and two other women) as well. Actresses Carrie Fisher and Joely Fisher are his daughters, and his other two children are Todd Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.

Eddie Fisher has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for singing and one for acting.

    I didn’t read his autobiography but he pretty much dumped on everyone and wrote some pretty scathing things about Debbie and Liz, they were both extremely angry about what he wrote. It was a bitter life he wrote about – I will wait with anticipation to hear what Carrie Fisher has to say about her father, it will be enlightening as only she can tell it.
