Dayna Kempson Schacht Video is an Outrage

Dayna Kempson Schacht video, how did this happen?

The parents of Dayna Kempson Schacht video are outraged.

How is it that, months after their daughter’s tragic death in a car accident, video of the accident, and of their deceased daughter, was sent to their cell phone?

It seems that during Dayna Kempson Schacht’s fatal car crash a fireman, the first to respond to the terrible scene, took video on his cell phone and later shared the video with others, disregarding the privacy of the family.

Dayna Kempson Schacht’s parents Jeff and Lucretia Kempson say that two and a half months after their daughter’s death the images/video arrived on their cell phone. No parent could ever imagine the horror they felt when seeing these images.

Mother of two, Dayna Kempson Schacht died last July 17 in a car crash near Griffin, Georgia. She died instantly at the scene of the crash.

The video of Dayna was 30-seconds long, but it will forveer be embedded into the memories of her parents, Jeff and Lucretia Kempson.

Jeff Kempson said, “It was bad enough that we lost our daughter. And now to have to deal with something like this, it’s just beyond words.”

Lucretia Kempson said, “When I close my eyes, it’s not fair that that video is what I see of my daughter.”

The video was shared amongst firefighters and then again at a local bar. Somehow the video made it’s way to the internet, and to the phone of the Kempson’s.

A spokesperson for the fire department went on record saying that this behavior is not condoned nor is it normal procedure. But in this day and age of cell phones and digital cameras, cases like these have been popping up around the country.

This story breaks my heart, as I too, lost a loved one in a similar devastating and fatal car crash. In fact, the death anniversary of my little brother is tomorrow, October 20th. Even though it has been 8 years since I lost him, I still could not handle seeing video or even photographs of my brother at the scene of the crash. What has become of our society? Is nothing sacred? What about respect for the parents, family and loved ones of the victim? It is extremely upsetting to me and should be to everyone. I hope that the fireman who so carelessly took this video is punished for his stupid, ignorant and selfish actions. God forbid the people that we pay to save our lives would rather take a cell phone video of a crash site than attend to the victim.

My heart goes out to the Kempson’s. No one should EVER have to go through what they have.

I am horrified anyone sent this to the parents at all, but with no warning? That’s just cruel. It’s so horrible that at a fatal accident this fireman’s first thought was to film it and then share it in bars, how can you be so immune, such a ghoul? Clearly something really big was missed in the psych eval for this man, only a sociopath would think a dead girl is “entertainment” to be shared. What he did wasn’t just unprofessional, it was sadistic. He needs to be dismissed and not hired anywhere else where he could continue his photography hobby. I hope they get an attorney, this was an egregious act – and it can’t be undone. I’m sorry from the Chief isn’t going to cut it.

I am truly sorry for your loss, this story had to touch you because of the circumstances. I lost someone so dear to me a couple of years ago, and you do go on but it changes you forever, a part of your heart is simply forever gone. Remember to be good to yourself, the pain may fade but it never really goes away. I know now that it shouldn’t either.
