Gwyneth Paltrow CMA Performance “Country Strong”

Gwyneth Paltrow to perform at the CMA’s

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is set to perform at this year’s CMA’s on November 10th.

Paltrow will be singing her country hit, “Country Strong” at the Country Music Association Awards. The song is from her film, “Country Strong” in which Gwyneth Paltrow plays a washed up, alcoholic country singer who bounces back.

Gwyneth says she did her research before taking on the role and singing the theme song from the movie. “I sort of started at the beginning with Hank (Williams) Sr. and Johnny Cash and really studied Dolly (Parton) and Loretta Lynn, and kind of just started at the beginning and went all the way through and found the people that I really love and who inspired me. I really like a lot of the young women in country right now, like Ashley Monroe and Miranda Lambert… I had never really known very much about country music, and I now am very into it. I know a lot more about it than I did.”

Country Strong hits theaters nationwide on January 7th, 2011, but the soundtrack will be released next week, October 26th.
