Tyler Perry OPRAH [VIDEO]

Tyler Perry on Oprah – video clip

Tyler Perry opened up to Oprah Winfrey about the abuse he suffered as a child – sexually, physically and emotionally.

His story was compelling.

He told Oprah of his abusive father who “played mind games” and beat him on a regular basis. Tyler Perry said that as he suffered this abuse he would try to escape to a happy place in his head, which was a park with green grass. He tells of one instance where his father was beating him as he was holding onto a chain link fence so tightly that his fists were bloody. On this particular day he could not find that “happy place” and instead saw himself running away. Tyler breaks down as he tells Oprah the story.

Tyler Perry was not only abused by his father, he was also sexually abused by a man who did unspeakable things to him as a child, and he tells Oprah he first had sexual intercourse at the age of 10, but not willingly. Tyler says he was at a friend’s house when the friend’s mother suddenly told her son he needed to take a bath and go to bed. Then, when she and Tyler Perry were alone, she locked the front door so he couldn’t leave. He tells Oprah:

“She lays on the sofa and spreads her legs. I didn’t know she was wearing lingerie at the time, and I said, ‘I have to go home.’ She lights a cigarette and she takes the key, and I come over to get it and she puts it inside of herself and she tells me to get it. So I get the key, but I feel my body betraying me because I felt an erection. She pulled me on top of her and I was inside of her. So my first sexual experience with a woman – that was it.”

Tyler Perry’s interview with Oprah was certainly touching as well as horrifying. It was very brave of him to come forward with such haunting stories so that others who have experienced sexual abuse may feel they are not alone. I’m sure it was difficult to revisit those memories, and to be so open and so vulnerable in front of the entire world. Kudos, Tyler, I have all the respect in the world for you.

There is a theory that abused children are more likely to be sexually abused. I feel so sorry for him, but I’m think it’s wonderful he told his story. How very sad as a child so many adults let him down, and preyed on him.

Bishop Dixon‘s Prayer Exclusive For Tyler Perry

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life, For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. (John 3:16, 17).

Therefore having been justified by faith, may you have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom you have obtained your introduction by faith into his grace in which you stand; and you exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but you also exult in your tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about trust; and trust proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out within your heart through the Holy Spirit who was given to you (Romans 5:1-5).

You may be afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise you also with Jesus and will present your mind, body and most important, your soul with him.

Therefore you should never lose heart, but through your inner flesh is decaying yet your inner soul is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for you an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while you look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporally, but the things which are not seen are eternal (2.Corinthians 4:8,9,14 16-18).

As you lay your fragile body and soul in the hands of God almighty may you Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be near you to defend you, within you to refresh you, around you to preserve you, before you to guide you, behind you to justify you, above you to bless you. You shall lives and have a place with the Father and the Holy Ghost for all the remaining days of your life.

Our Father, as “Christians” we thank you for being gracious to your child in Christ Tyler Perry according to thy loving kindness and according to the greatness of thy compassion. He thank you for your help, Father he maybe perplexed and afraid knowing, God it was your will and “Grace” that will get him through his life journey.

God, I ask you to send your angels to help open the eyes of other children of yours that are living right now through the same dark pain that they too can come to you by faith knowing that you have the power of healing and that you are still “God”.

We must believe by faith it was your son “Jesus Christ” who paid the price for our sins and suffering while he were here on earth.

    Amen
