Steven Slater Today Show [VIDEO]

Steven Slater on the Today Show – video

Steven Slater, the Jet Blue flight attendant who, after a confrontation with an unruly passenger, freaked out over a plane’s intercom and deployed the emergency slide before grabbing a beer and sliding down it, spoke to Matt Lauer this morning on the Today Show.

Slater, who was well spoken, finally got to tell his side of the story that fascinated the nation.

To start, Matt Lauer asked Steven Slater why so many people had applauded his actions that day. Slater’s reasoning was that “it was about time,” meaning, people are sick and tired of rude, selfish people taking advantage of those who have jobs serving/ waiting on people.

Would he do it again? No, he says. He admits his emotions got out of control that day and he allowed his frustrations to get the better of him. He won’t allow himself to escalate like that in the future.

Matt Lauer asked some other, much more difficult and incriminating questions as well. He mentions to Steven Slater that none of the passengers who were on board the flight recall the confrontation with an unruly passenger, and many think the gash on his head was already there when he came to work that morning. Matt also asks Slater if he had been drinking that day…

Watch the Today Show video and see Steven Slater’s answers. It’s a pretty good interview…

I said it before, but this guy in a way, is my hero I always wanted to be. Starting in the food industry at 14 (work permit), and being a server for 11+ years, I totally wanted to go off on the (rude) public once in a while. People can be MEAN!
