MC Hammer disses Jay-Z in his Better Run Run video which you can watch above.
Jay-Z started the whole diss thing when he called out MC Hammer for his financial woes in “So Appalled” and the Hammer is hitting back with a song of his own.
Since MC Hammer can’t exactly diss on Jay-Z for financial problems, he chose, instead, to play on the rumors that Jay-Z is in the Illuminati.
In “Better Run Run” MC Hammer mentions how Jay-Z sold his soul to the devil and even shows the devil throwing up the Illuminati pyramid sign, one which Jay-Z is known for displaying at his many shows.
Some think MC Hammer’s “Better Run Run” is whack, but others think it’s pretty brave of him to step up to one of the richest, most powerful and successful rappers in the world. I agree with the latter. I love it. Not the song necessarily, but what I love is that it reminds me of old school hip hop. Duking it out in rhymes. It’s funny too, I was listening to old school hip hop on Music Choice the other day and heard “The Real Roxanne.” Ahhh, memories of UTFO, The Real Roxanne, Roxanne Shanti and the gang. Answer raps. You diss me, I diss you back in a rap. Whoever has the fiercest rhyme, wins.
