Vince Neil will appear on Skating with the Stars
Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil is set to compete on the new ABC reality competition series, Skating with the Stars.
Skating with the Stars is a new spinoff of the highly successful Dancing with the Stars, where celebrities pair up with professional dancers to compete for charity.
Vince Neil has said in recent interviews that he does have experience skating, so he feels he’ll have an edge on his competition. “I was a figure skater when I was 12. When they called the people in my office were laughing but I told them, ‘I actually used to skate.’ I haven’t skated for a long, long time. I like to do things that sound like fun and this sounds like fun.”
In another interview he added: “I’ve been known to be one of the bad boys of rock ‘n’ roll. I’m going to leave all that behind and just be the baddest guy on the ice.”
Aging rock n’ rollers have softened up their bad boy images by appearing on reality shows in recent years. Fellow Mötley Crüe band member Tommy Lee appeared on “Tommy Lee Goes to College,” Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler recently signed on to be a new judge on American Idol, and Bret Michaels somewhat polished up his womanizer image on the Donald Trump reality series, Celebrity Apprentice.
Other celebrities set to compete on Skating with the Stars are Rebecca Budig, Sean Young, Bethenny Frankel, Brandon Mychal Smith and Jonny Moseley.
The first season of Dancing With The Stars premieres November 22nd.
