Former Bachelorette contest Julien Hug’s body was discovered Wednesday in a remote area off of SR-74 in Riverside County, CA.
Julien Hug, 35, is the son of Bertrand and Denise Hug, who own and manage many restaurants in the San Diego area.
A missing person’s report was filed Monday when Julien Hug failed to show up to Augusta Modern restaurant in Palm Desert. He had left for Palm Desert from San Diego earlier that morning and was set to manage the newly acquired restaurant.
Julien Hug’s body was discovered at approximately 11:00AM on Wednesday near Pinyon Pines. Reports say the area is generally only gotten to by hiking. It’s unknown who found his body.
Julien Hug was a contestant on the 2009 reality show, The Bachelorette. His friend and also a contestant on The Bachelorette, Kiptyn Locke , said the news was “crushing,” and that the two men had stayed in contact since the show’s end.
The death of Julien Hug is being investigated. We will update as we learn more.
