Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton fight during Sunday’s race
NASCAR drivers Jeff Grodon and Jeff Burton got into a fist fight at the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday.
The fight happened after Jeff Gordon was hit by Jeff Burton, causing Jeff Gordon’s car to fishtail and slam into the wall. Both Burton and Gordon wrecked.
Afterwards Jeff Gordon was fired up, and PISSED. He and Jeff Burton both got out of their cars and walked toward one another. Obviously the aggressor, Jeff Gordon walked up to Jeff Burton and pushed him, grabbed him and tossed him around for a minute. Jeff Burton held his arms up as if to say, “What the hell are you doing?” and simply defended himself.
Officials stepped in between Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton and as they seperated the two men Jeff Gordon kept on popping off and trying to get at Jeff Burton.
Later Jeff Burton admitted it was his fault, but added that he didn’t mean to hit Jeff Gordon. “I don’t blame him for being mad, I’d be mad too,” he said.
Jeff Gordon didn’t get over the incident as easily. He said: “Of all the people out there I never thought that would happen with Jeff Burton. I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for him but I certainly lost a lot of respect today.
There are fights in hockey, baseball, football AND basketball! Does that make them hillbilly sports as well?! I don’t think so…. What a stupid comment to make Ms. Tulane! Shame on you!
