‘CONAN’ RATINGS IMPRESSIVE

‘CONAN’ ratings impressive for premiere

Conan O’Brien’s new late night show, Conan, had excellent ratings it’s first nigh on-air.

Conan’s ratings on TBS beat out both Jay Leno’s Tonight Show on NBC and David Letterman’s Late Night with David Letterman on CBS.

4.16 million viewers tuned into the premiere of Conan, which received higher ratings than any other late night talk show last night. The Tonight Show had 3.47 million viewers and Late Night with David Letterman followed up with 3.39 million.

Conan O’Brien left NBC and The Tonight Show last January after the network decided to bring back Jay Leno. Since then, Conan and his staff have been working hard to keep Conan in the spotlight with Twitter, Facebook, and other various creative campaigns.

Will ‘Conan’ take over the late night ratings war – and will he be the new late night talk show king?

I don’t think this shows anything. Many people tune in to the first or first couple episodes of a show. I’m not saying Conan’s show will bomb. I think his numbers will stay good, but just that the premier of a show doesn’t forecast anything.

The king of late night TV is back.
