Jake Harris Drugging on Cornelia Marie?

Jake Harris, the son of the late Captain Phil Harris, had the cops called on him by the new captain of the Cornelia Marie, who suspected Jake was abusing drugs while working on the fishing boat.

Captain Derek Ray called police and told them that Jake Harris had been abusing prescription drugs while on the boat. If you recall on last season’s Deadliest Catch, Jake’s father, Phil Harris, caught Jake stealing his prescription drugs not long before his death. Jake has since been in and out of rehab. But has he benefited from it?

On November 5th, 2010, Police searched the Cornelia Marie and did find “paraphernalia” but no actual drugs, so Jake was not charged with a crime. Police also spoke with the entire crew of the boat, but no arrests were made.

Jake Harris has been battling a drug problem for awhile now, and it seems his battle is yet to be over. He probably got lucky and hid the pills well or even flushed them. Or hell, maybe he even took them all. It’s too bad. Jake is on a path to destroying his life – or someone else’s. You can’t be working such a dangerous job where people’s lives could be in jeopardy if you’re too high to do your job safely. Jake Harris keeps skating by though. Back in February, only days after his father’s death, he was involved in a DUI accident. Police could only charge him with reckless driving because he wasn’t caught behind the wheel. Hopefully Jake gets it together, and soon. For the sake of himself, his family and the crew of the Cornelia Marie.
