Elizabeth Edwards funeral to be picketed by Westboro Baptist Church
Saturday’s funeral for Elizabeth Edwards will be picketed by radical members of the Westboro Baptist Church.
The same Westboro Baptists Church has picketed other high profile funerals such as Michael Jackson and Ronnie James Dio, but perhaps the most disgusting funerals these hate mongers protest are those of soldiers who have been killed in the line of duty.
The Westboro Baptist Church became infamous after protesting the funeral of Matthew Shepard, the 21-year-old who was tortured and beaten to death for being gay. Still, to this day, the Westboro Church protests any productions involving Matthew Shephard’s story.
The group’s official site has probably the most terrible dot com I have ever laid eyes on. God hates fags dot com.
Most recently the Westboro Baptists Church picketed a soldier’s funeral in Oklahoma when their van’s tires were slashed. In an awesome revolt, not one towing company in the area would assist them in any way.
So back to Elizabeth Edwards.
Members of the Westboro Baptist Church announced Thursday that they will indeed be protesting Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral, which is set to take place on Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina. The radical hate group (well, it’s what they are), plans to protest from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, when the service begins.
Why are they protesting Elizabeth Edwards? The Westboro Baptist Church seem to think that Elizabeth Edwards thought she could control God. Their latest press release states: “GOD HATES ELIZABETH EDWARDS!”
As you know, I HATE getting into politics/religion discussions, but I have to say it. As someone who believes in God, don’t they know that God does not HATE at all? Doesn’t his word preach only forgiveness and love? The Westboro Baptist Church is nothing but a thinly disguised hate group that thrives on stirring up anger, hurting people and creating a hateful environment in times where peace should be prevalent.
Can you imagine being the parent of a child who was killed in combat and having these lunatics show up to protest? Can you imagine the hatred and resentment you would feel? All I can say is what comes around goes around. And one day, these people will get back what the have been dishing out – by tenfold.

I have so much disgust for this group…what they need is our pity and LOVE, because they have no love for themselves or anybody else. Kill them with LOVE.
“LOVE THEM”????? Please. Give me a break. They are easily the worst people on the face of the earth, sharing that distinction with Osama bin Laden.
They are truly horrible people, and whatever they are it has nothing to do with being Christian, they follow none of the tenants of any church. Most of the “congregation” are family members who appear to be emotional hostages to this crazy man. The way the “church” makes money because they have no real supporting congregation, is they protest and then sue the towns they are in for a variety of real and imagined wrongs, the preachers two oldest daughters, I believe are attorneys and this is how their scam works. They go to protest and are harassed, not protected by police to their liking, whatever thing they can think of and sue the city they are protesting in. The cities have insurance for lawsuits, this means the city is not really being sued, since the municipalities once sued means the insurance company handles the law suit, and for reasons of risk management pay the church off rather than spend the money defending the cities the church has sued. In other words they are paid to go away, and been doing this for over two decades. Neat hat trick don’t you think? They are con artists using the most vile way, that incites the most hatred possible only to collect money by saying they are the wronged parties.
So far none of the kids/grandkids have spoken about the family but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out the real weirdness is what goes on in the family compound if you catch my drift. I’m sure many patriot riders will be there, backs turned, singing to drowned them out for her funeral, that’s what the patriot riders do now, all over the country to diminish the damage the Westboro Church does at services.
