After a fake engagement on Twitter, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are now officially engaged.

The couple, who left each other’s spouses to be together after meeting on the set of a movie, became engaged over the holidays.

LeAnn’s publicist confirmed the engagement saying: “Yes, they were engaged over the holidays and are very happy.”

The couple spent the holidays celebrating their engagement with friends in Los Angeles. On Monday LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian were photographed while strolling a Malibu beach. LeAnn was wearing her 5-carat engagement ring. Rimes and Cibrian designed the ring together at Polacheck Jewelers.

Later that day LeAnn thanked fans and well wishers on Twitter. “Thank you for all your well wishes!! We are extremely excited and look forward to a beautiful future. It’s been an incredible last few days, I was shocked!!! We are blessed, our families are so happy and our lives are filled with love.”

LeAnn Rimes will now be the stepmother to Eddie Cibrian’s two children, Mason, 7, and Jake, 3.

    Pretty sure LeAnn payed for that ring. I give them two years…tops.
