Lady Gaga tops magazine covers in 2010
Lady Gaga graced the covers of many, many magazines this year and when she did magazine sales soared.
Most notably, Lady Gaga’s Rolling Stone cover in which Gaga donned a platinum bob wig and wielded guns while wearing next to nothing. That Rolling Stone cover managed to triple sales of the magazine that month, with 250,000 of the magazines sold. It was Rolling Stone’s best selling issue of 2010.
Other Lady Gaga covers that fans went gaga over, were Cosmopolitan, which was also the fashion magazine’s highest selling issue of the year, and Elle and Vanity Fair’s Gaga covers were in the top three best sellers.
The worst selling magazine covers award goes to Taylor Swift. Despite having phenomenal success with her recording career, her covers simply don’t pull in sales. Taylor’s Elle, Marie Claire and Glamour magazine covers all had poor sales, and were in the bottom three of all three magazines’ sales of 2010.
