Ted Williams’ Radio Golden Voice, Homeless Man Video Goes Viral
Ted Williams’, a homeless man in Ohio who claimed to have a golden voice made for radio, was discovered on YouTube, and the video is changing his life.
A guy on YouTube named “Ritchey” posted the video of Ted Williams’ and his golden voice. He heard the potential in Ted William’s radio voice and grabbed a video camera in hopes of getting the guy some exposure. He even interviewed the homeless Ted Williams, who talked about being inspired by a radio announcer in his youth. Ted Williams said that he went to school for radio, but at some point in his life drugs, alcohol and “other things” took over his life. The homeless man is now two years clean and sober though, and was looking for that golden opportunity to better his life. “Ritchey” who cared enough to record his radio perfect voice, is certainly to credit for what came next.
The YouTube video of homeless Ted Williams went viral immediately. In two days it has received more than 4.5 million hits.
Ted Williams dreams and hopes were to get his life back on track. In the video he says: “I’m trying hard to get it back, and hopefully somebody from one of these television or radio station will say ‘Hey, I need a voiceover’ or ‘I need….something.’”
And something came along.
The video of homeless Ted Williams and his golden radio voice caught the attention of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who contacted Mr. Williams on Wednesday. Cavaliers spokesman Tad Carper says they are in talks with Ted Williams who may have found a job in Quicken Loans Arena.

We are all guilty of just passing by when we see someone on an offramp standing with a sign, but hopefully Ted Williams’ story will help up to realize that they are people too, and that at some point in their life they weren’t in that position.
I LOVE this story and wish Ted Williams and his golden voice the absolute best and a promising career in radio or television. A truly inspirational story. Lawd knows we don’t get enough of those!
