Boy, here’s a real shocker.

Attention craving model Katie Price (a.k.a. ‘Jordan’) and her meathead husband Alex Reid are set to divorce.

For those who guessed the marriage wouldn’t last a year, you would be correct. Katie Price and Alex Reid were married in February 2010 after a whirlwind romance (purely lust and for publicity, imo), only months after Katie had left her husband and father of two of her children, Peter Andre.

The divorce rumors have been flying in recent days, but Katie Price finally confirms they have validity.

Katie Price’s statement regarding her divorce to Alex Reid:

“Alex and I have had a number of difficulties over the past few months. I accept that these were in part caused by my marrying too quickly – we all make mistakes and this was one. However, Alex changed from the man I fell in love with, and some of his behaviour became difficult for me to understand and caused issues. I have tried to help him with these issues but they have put a considerable strain on our relationship. Our difficulties were also not helped by Alex becoming more fascinated by life in the media eye.”

I love how she goes into detail. She’s always been one to make the other party look bad. Katie Price will not be upstaged, and clearly she feels that Alex has attempted to do so. She continues:

“It is true that I have asked Alex to leave the family home and that he will not do so. I would leave myself but the house is equipped for Harvey’s [her son] needs. Alex would like to portray himself as honourable and I hope he acts that way.

“I am deeply upset that my relationship with Alex has failed but I know it is the right thing for my children and I that we separate. My children are my absolute priority in this and they are being shielded from what is happening.”

Meanwhile, Katie Price’s ex-husband Peter Andre has mended his broken heart and has gotten on with his life. In fact, he has a new girlfriend, Elen Rivas, 36, a Spanish model.

Andre and Rivas have been quietly dating the past couple of months and it has gotten so serious between them that the pair have introduced their children to each other. Elen has two young daughters from a past marriage, Luna 5, and Isla,3. Peter has two children with Kate Price, Junior, 5, and Princess, 3.

Looks like everything had a way of working itself out. Karma, anyone?
