Ricky Gervais to host Golden Globes in 2012?
Despite the controversy he caused after hosting this year’s Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais says he has been asked to return as host of the 2012 Golden Globes.
After his stint on the show Ricky said: “I’m sorry if they were offended, but I’m not sorry for anything I said.”
He still feels the same way.
Gervais wrote in this week’s Heat magazine: “The ratings went up again, and the organisers asked me to consider a third year. I don’t think I should. I don’t know what I could do better. I certainly couldn’t get more press for them, that’s for sure.
“I did exactly what I went to do: improve on last year’s and have a laugh. The response was staggering. It was discussed on every news channel and chat show for weeks.”
Ricky Gervais may not have decided if he will return to the Golden Globes in 2012, but if he does, it will be his third year hosting the event. The snark trifecta!
The Golden Globes are wise to ask Ricky Gervais back. When looking back you always tend to remember those awards shows that had something controversial happening, and the Gervais hosted Golden Globes will always be remembered. Besides, they are so boring without a little cattiness. Count me on Team Gervais.
As a DISH Network customer/employee I was able to watch all the controversy in perfect HD, and I thought it was hilarious. They definitely should have Gervais back a third time. The funniest thing is everyone on the Internet was all anti-Gervais right after the Globes happened, but I bet now that it’s been announced he was asked back people wil start lining up saying how great he is now that all the predictions that he’s “done in Hollywood” are proved obviously false.
Ohhhh I hope he says YES! That show is BORING without him. Plus, I believe he CAN top himself and think of better ways to make fun of people. Come on Ricky, you can do it!
