CRAM IT IN THE BOOT: Mini Cooper Super Bowl Commercial [VIDEO]

Cram it in the boot, Super Bowl ad for the Mini Cooper

“Cram it in the boot!”

Mini Cooper took the risque route with their new Super Bowl commercial, ‘Cram it in the Boot!’ An obvious sexual reference, some people on Twitter were shocked and offended while others LOVED it.

“As a happy #mini owner, i am disappointed in the “cram it in the boot” spot,” wrote @lacheraqui.

@davidcraigstl wrote: ”The Cram it in the boot spot was, oh maybe, a bit suggestive. Did not make me want a Mini.”

What did you think of the Cram it in the Boot spot? Poor taste or hilarious? I’m going with the latter!

Pepsi Max is winning in the commercials this year!

THE most discusting, filthy, and unappropriate telivision ad I have ever had the misfortune to watch. Your sales will hopefully fall to the lowest possible point.

  • NiggaPlz

Mini got best-in-show with the Cram It commercial…

  • adavis3659

Totally inappropriate for a family broadcaast!

Bad form…disgusting. Shame on those who thought this one up.

  • John Roberts

Offensive and Stupid. Basically a low class double entendre. Makes me lose faith in advertising and never want to buy a Mini. Ever. Low class hall of shame. Sad pitiful attempt at humor, and completely unnecessary. A sad commentry on our society, and a shameful career choice for all involved. Get some dignity.

  • Hodge

Hilarious! Favorite commercial all night. Lighten up people, it’s not like we were watching Sunday morning mass. It’s the Super Bowl, it’s expected.

  • Auria

This commercial was funny and cute-i applaud Mini-Cooper for being creative and ‘light-hearted’! Kudos.

  • james rojek

I thought the commercial was inappropriate for a family event. I’ll never buy a mini and I hope their sales drop on account of low moral standards

  • Chris B

Bad taste offensive commercial. I did turn to my girl and asked if I can cram it in her boot. She didnt like that either. Oh well.

I though it was great! It definitely caught my attention.I would love to have a Mini with all that room.
Certainly not as suggestive as the Sketcher one.

The MINI Cooper is a car that will only be purchased by a car enthusiast that has a unique point of view, and this commercial appeals specifically to this type of person. I would imagine that the ppl who are outraged by this type of commercial own a Buick, Toyota Mini Van, or Ford sedan. An MCS owner or perspective buyer has a racier and open point of view… not at all conservative.

It was a decent commercial… and a great play on the terminology that is used by a MINI enthusiast.

ok too funny – the one shot that i think was over the line and un-necessary was the sub sandwich one. the same one you used as your thumbnail above. ha!
otherwise i thought it was funny and a very mini way to intro the mini countryman during an event like the sb.
mini has a youtube account where you can vote and right now thumbs up is beating thumbs down about 2 to 1 so that says something right?
    here’s a link to it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDnVE58Z9VA

Best commercial of the super bowl by far. hilarious. you people need to lighten up a little. especially you, Dennis Clinton. this isn’t the era of the quakers, so quit being such a prude. do you make your wife lie completely still and silent during sex too? heartily wishing that a company will fail because of a commercial that you’re too stodgy to laugh at is backwards and pretentious. grow up. also, “unappropriate” isn’t a word. it’s INAPPROPRIATE to use words that aren’t real. dumbass.

I LOVED the mini-cooper ad! posted on facebook after it aired, Best In Show for Superbowl! Lived in Britain for a couple years, and this is totally bad bawdy british humor.
I totally get that super conservatives will get all weird about the ‘cram it in the boot’ double entendre, but really people? Studies show that most men secretly want to do this if said wife (staying conservative here) would talk about/ allow it – at least once to try it – and, who doesn’t want room in the back of a small car to put lots of stuff while still having said small car all sporty and with great mileage?
Sell on, Mini Cooper to your edgy, young, hip, boot-cramming customer. You were more focused than many on superbowl day. I think you may get your $3 million bucks worth…

How was it so inappropriate? Guess those that did have dirty minds and look at everythingas sexual!! That movie Gnomes must drive people crazy seems like an adult movie looks highly inappropriate for kids. I thought it was a great commercial one of the top 5 which is not saying much even though I would never buy a mini unless I plan on doing an Italian Job

  • Kit

Loved it! Those people who got offended by the commercial probably loved the hot sweaty Skechers commercial, which was horrible btw. Loathe Kim K. The British sense of humor is often bawdy and a little blue. MINI I hope your sales skyrocket. I’d love to have a mini just haven’t been able to buy one yet.

  • Joe

I think a lot of people missed some of the more subtle innuendo throughout the ad. I would say it is inappropriate for a family show, but this is going to be well over the head of younger children anyways. I know someone who was involved with the making of this commercial and they slipped me this note which I am sure will shock a few people.

    ———————-
Boot = Butt (think that one was obvious)

    Golf Clubs = “Four” Play

    Giant Armored Man = Protection

6′ Sandwich =? Big penis (also somewhat obvious)

Bees = A little stinging sensation

Cake with frosting = “happy ending”

  • Allison Scott

I love this spot but then I’m a sucker for British humor! I highly doubt kids will get any of the suggestive references.

Don’t see what the flap is about. This ad was nowhere near as bad as the Kim Kardasien one or most of the movie trailers. Didn’t raise an eyebrow at my house.
Mini Countryman has a Times square billboard up that is a different ad though, not “cram it” campaign. Pretty stunning visually if only for sheer size.

  • Jean

The commercial was fine, they simply demonstrated a surprising amount of room in the car by cramming in various items. There was no offense or vulgarity intended and there was none taken. The color of the car was beautiful and I would consider purchasing a mini-coop but my car is only one year old.

  • Darby

here is the times square billboard someone mentioned:

stunning when you see it all lit up at night. saw it last week from a cab driving uptown. mini countryman that’s “on” the billboard looks like a real car, neat trick.

    she’s getting paid, haters!

I thought this commercial would get a bunch of flack as soon it was finished. I expressed my surprise to some fellow Oklahomians but, none of the simple minded hicks thought it had any sexual overtone; just a guy trying to cram stuff in his trunk. I guess ignorance is bliss, especially in the south.
