I Love the 80′s! – The Clash with ‘Guns of Brixton’ (Live)

One of my favorite songs by The Clash (and believe me, that’s saying something) is ‘Guns of Brixton’.

A bass heavy tune with a catchy melody, ‘Guns of Brixton’ was written and sung by The Clash’s bass player, Paul Simonon.

Brixton grew up in Brixton, South London. The song was released in December 1979. When The Clash played ‘Guns of Brixton’ live, Simonon would switch to rhythm guitar and Joe Strummer would play bass. Simonon didn’t feel confortable playing bass and singing lead vocals at the same time.

A GREAT, classic, tune, WAY ahead of it’s time.  This live version is pretty amazing. Check it out:
