General Hospital’s Luke and Laura reunite on Oprah
Soap opera’s famed couple Luke and Laura will appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show Wednesday, much to the delight of daytime fans everywhere.
Luke and Laura, played by Anthony Geary and Genie Francis, were and still are the biggest thing to ever happen to daytime soap operas. Luke and Laura’s General Hospital wedding took place on November 17, 1981, and is still the highest-rated soap opera hour ever with more than 30-million viewers. The crazy thing is, after 30 years, people still love Luke and Laura!

Luke and Laura’s characters live on. Luke is still played by Anthony Geary and Laura, well, she’s supposedly in France. Genie has been off and on the show for years. Last time was in 2008.
Fun fact:Elizabeth Taylor had a cameo in the Luke and Laura wedding episode, as Helena Cassadine, who later ends up kidnapping Laura in a revenge plot. (You can catch Liz at the beginning and end of the video.)
