Adrianne Palicki is the new Wonder Woman

Adrianne Palicki of Friday Night Lights has landed the role of the glamorous superhero Wonder Woman on the upcoming television series for NBC.

(Also be on the lookout for Adrianne Palicki, 27, in the upcoming remake of the 1980′s movie, Red Dawn, which is slated for release sometime this year.)

Boston Legal writer David E. Kelley is the man behind Wonder Woman’s resurrection, and he plans on keeping the character true to form with a golden lasso, invisible plane and deflecting cuffs.

Former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter has confidence Kelley’s show will be a success. In December she said, “He’s great at the underlying comedy and character development. I spoke to him several weeks ago and he is perfect for it because he will really give the characters life. It’s not just going to be a cartoon or comic book thing, which is really what I think we tried to do.”

Recently Adrianne Palicki spoke with Esquire magazine about her love of acting. “First of all, I’m naturally blonde. Second of all, I do this because I love it. You know, it’s not the fame, it’s not to be on TV – I love acting more than anything, and that’s all I wanted to do. I sit around, I go hiking, I hang out with my friends. I read comic books. I’m into Supergirl. I have a Supergirl tattoo, and I’m a really big fan of Alan Moore’s stuff, all of his stuff.”

Well then, it looks like Adrianne Palicki will make a fine Wonder Woman. And the fact that she is 5’11 makes it all the more believable. Wonder Woman was an Amazon woman, remember?
