Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers is in trouble with the law again, this time for DUI.

The first baseman was arrested last night for DUI and resisting arrest after being combative with officers.

Police first noticed Miguel Cabrera around 11:00pm when they spotted his vehicle on the side of the road with it’s engine smoking. When police approached him they smelled alcohol on his breath and noticed he was slurring. Miguel Cabrera refused to take a breathalyzer test and became cocky and belligerent with the officers.

When asked who was with him, Cabrera responded: “I’m going to f—— kill him.” He barked at officers, “Do you know who I am? You don’t know anything about my problems.”

At one point he even took a swig of scotch, straight from the bottle, in front of a cop. Talk about cocky…

Miguel Cabrera was charged with DUI, resisting an officer without violence and open container of alcohol in vehicle. He was released from jail Thursday morning and posted $1,350 bond.

In October of 2009 Miguel Cabrera was involved in a drunken domestic dispute with his wife that ended with him physically hitting her. He went to rehab after the incident and has claimed to have been sober ever since.
