Halle Berry Estranged From Half Her Family

Halle Berry does not stay in contact with the African-American side of her family

Halle Berry’s half -sister, Renee Berry, says that the famous actress is estranged from the African-American side of her family, and has no interest in reuniting.

Renee, 51, was close with Halle Berry while growing up despite having two different mothers. Renee claims that Halle stopped all contact with the family years ago and is impossible to reach.

Says Renee: “I’m sad to say it seems like she does not want anything to do with us. I have not spoken to her in about five years. I tried to contact her through her website, to congratulate her on her Oscar, but no one got back to me. We would love to meet Nahla. We are desperate to understand why Halle is so upset, why she feels she cannot be with us.”

Halle Berry claims her father Jerome beat her mother in front of her. As he lay dying with Parkinson’s disease, Renee made a public plea by way of media to ask her sister to visit their ailing father. Halle never did. He died in 2003. After his death Renee told The Sun: “It’s terribly sad. He wasn’t the best father when we were growing up but his other children forgave him. Dad would have died a happier man if he’d known that Halle had accepted too that he made mistakes.”
