Katie Holmes is suing Star magazine for this cover story

Katie Holmes is suing mad at Star magazine over a cover story that insinuated she was a drug addict.

The Star magazine cover of Katie Holmes, above, shows Katie looking worse for wear and has the headline “Addiction Nightmare: KATIE DRUG SHOCKER!” sprawled across the front.

Apparently the inside article never says that Katie Holmes is a drug addict, instead it’s only the cover that suggests it. A common, dirty trick used by gossip rags to sell more magazines.

Katie Holmes’ publicist spoke on the matter regarding Star magazine saying: “Star Magazine’s malicious claims about Katie are untrue, unethical and unlawful.  Not only do they cruelly defame Katie, they play a cheap trick on the public, making ridiculously false claims on the cover unsupported by anything inside. Someone should bring a class action to get all buyers their money back.”

Kind of like the old time side-show freak shows. “Step right up! There’s a ‘Man-Eating Chicken’ inside!” After you’d pay your money you’d step inside the tent and see it’s simply a man sitting at a table eating a chicken dinner. Same thing.
