Virgin Mobile 25 Summit in D.C. with Lady Gaga!

Spicy in Washington D.C. with Virgin Mobile, Mekanism and Lady Gaga!

I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. last week for the Virgin Mobile 25 Summit where a group of bloggers from 25 sites were selected by the company to brainstorm campaign ideas, as well as be treated to a Lady Gaga concert in the Nation’s Capital, and get to meet Lady Gaga personally.

Yes, it was quite an exciting 24 hours and I’m not sure that I have yet recovered!

We started off with a meet and greet of fellow bloggers, as well as Virgin Mobile and Mekanism representatives, over cocktails, appetizers, and an amazing selection of food. Some bloggers I was familiar with, some not, but all in all it was a great mix of bloggers (scroll down for complete list) and YouTubers who all have a unique and influential presence on the internet.

It was while we were here, mingling, that we learned we would be meeting Lady Gaga. Say WHAT?! Normally I don’t get starstruck, but LADY GAGA!? I was giddy.

After we all became familiar with one another and filled our bellies with food and drink, it was time to go to the show. A big bus was waiting for our ‘Virgin Mobile 25′ group and one-by-one we packed onto the bus, spirits high, and ready to go see Lady Gaga do her thing.

Our seats were great, about the 10th row up, even better than my first experience seeing Lady Gaga in Tacoma, WA last July. As per usual, Lady Gaga put on an amazing show, and the crowd went wild when she performed her new hit, Born This Way. If you haven’t seen the video yet, we posted it yesterday, check it out here. It’s a total trip, no?

Watching Lady Gaga perform you have to wonder where she gets her energy. She’s been touring for months and shows no sign of slowing down. Her voice is always flawless too. If you haven’t seen her live, TRUST me, do it. You’ll become a fan whether you want to or not!

A few hours and a couple cocktails later, the show was over and it was time to meet the larger than life personality known as Gaga. We eventually filed into the small room where Lady Gaga was seated with a painting of herself hanging in the backdrop. One-by-one we went up to Lady Gaga to get our photo taken. “I just want to tell her to take her head out of Perez Hilton’s ass!” says one of my blogging BFF’s. I died. Heh. (I’ll refrain from saying who until I get the clear from them!)

When it was my turn I said to Gaga, “I just want to eat you up like candy!” It was the cotton candy hair, really. She calmly replied, “Go ahead.”

Yeah, I’m an idiot.

After a whirlwind of a night and going on very little sleep, the Virgin Mobile 25 team were set to meet for our conference the next morning. Now, when you think of a “conference” or a “meeting” you think of something dull, long and intensely boring, right? This was hardy the case while meeting with Virgin Mobile. In fact, it was quite exciting to learn what an incredibly forward thinking team they are. It was all about social media too, which is a blogger’s wet dream.

Some great ideas were tossed around and hopefully I’ll be able to tell you about them soon. Virgin Mobile has some pretty exciting stuff on tap, and it would be completely in your best interest to follow them on Facebook. Do it here:  http://www.facebook.com/VirginMobileLive

One thing I can tell you about, is Virgin Mobile’s FREEFEST! A completely free music festival in Columbia, MD. I am SO planning on going. The 2011 dates have not been set, nor has the lineup, but it is coming soon. Visit Virgin Mobile’s Free Fest site and click, “Keep Me Posted” for more details as soon as they are available.

More fun stuff will be coming our way from our friends at Virgin Mobile, so stay tuned! (By the way, just between you and I, Virgin Mobile has a crazy-exciting campaign in a couple weeks I’ll be telling you about!)

You can catch Virgin Mobile at SxSW March 16-20th, and be looking for Spicy to mix it up as guest DJ on Virgin Mobile Live soon as well! *Bring the Noize!*
