Celebrity Apprentice Recap for episode, “Child’s Play”
This week’s Celebrity Apprentice task consisted of the two teams writing a children’s book and acting the book out on stage in front of an audience.
Lisa Rinna led the women of ASAP . . . right into the ground. Lisa’s Celebrity Apprentice team wasn’t very cooperative due to the fact that Lisa wasn’t a good project manager. There were multiple spats and personality conflicts within their team and ultimately it cost them.
The men on the other hand, worked exceptionally well together with very little drama.
It’s funny how on Celebrity Apprentice you get to see how celebrities react under stressful situations, and clearly some do not handle the pressure well. Dionne Warwick is someone who has shocked me on the show. She is such a diva! And I’m not being complimentary either. Grumpy and mean. I was also surprised at her ego. She and Star Jones wanted to be “credited” on the front of their children’s book even though it was a team effort. They were like a couple of spoiled brats, making a big deal out of it.
Dionne also managed to make Marlee Matlin’s blood boil by making Marle feel like she is “handicapped.” Dionne said the children would feel sorry for Marlee if her deafness was included in the story.
Yeah, not so much a fan of Dionne Warwick anymore. That woman is cold! Marlee Matlin was even shocked, “I’ve never seen such attitude!” she signed.
The women chose ‘LaToya the Lion’ as their book’s character, and the men chose ‘Not So Lil’ Jon’.
Both Celebrity Apprentice teams did well during their skits but the men definitely had a more interactive, fun, goofy performance that the kids loved. Gary Busey made a great 5-year old, and Jose Canseco and Richard Hatch dressed as females was a kick, but Richard was a little creepy, no?
Lil’ Jon busted out a kid friendly rap and had the kids join along. “I know my ABC’s and my 123′s!” It was kind of a psychedelic freak show with Busey, Hatch, Meatloaf, Lil Jon, Canseco and Mark McGrath dancing, throwing glitter and singing with the kids. It was hilarious! And effective.
The Celebrity Apprentice men’s skit won Meatloaf $20,000 for his charity, The Painted Turtle, an organization benefiting sick children. Their children’s book will also be published with the profits going to the charity.
The boardroom was pretty vicious. The women got out their razor sharp claws and started swinging. Star and Dionne went right for Lisa’s throat and did not let up. Hope, Nene and Niki stayed relatively quiet, as did Marlee Matlin until Donald Trump asked her who she would fire.

“I would fire Dionne,” Marlee told Donald Trump. Then she went on to explain. “She intimidates me as a person. She has a very strong personality, she ‘s very blunt. People tell me she’s a legend and I respect that, I just..” Donald Trump interupts, “What do you mean people told you? You don’t know that she’s a legend?” Marlee replied, “Well, I’m deaf!”
After the laughing died down, she continued. “Sometimes [it was] the language that was used, sometimes it was I felt as though I was demeaned in front of everyone.”
“Okay,” Dionne Warwick responded, somewhat rolling her eyes.
Not surprisingly, Lisa Rinna had Dionne Warwick and Star Jones return with her to the Celebrity Apprentice boardroom where one of them would be fired.
Lisa didn’t do so hot making a case for herself. Star Jones talked circles around her and Lisa even lost her cool. “You f—ing threw me under the bus! You all did!” Yep, she crumbled.
After taking a beating from her teammates, Donald Trump made the call:
And with that, Lisa got up in her slinky dress and strutted out of the room.
Do you agree with Donald Trump’s choice? Should Star or Dionne have been fired from Celebrity Apprentice this week instead?
