The Bachelor Finale 2011: BRAD WOMACK Picks EMILY MAYNARD

The Bachelor Finale 2011 – Brad Womack picks Emily Maynard

The Bachelor Finale aired Monday night and we know now that Bachelor Brad Womack picked Emily Maynard, the Southern Belle from North Carolina.

But it was Chantal O’Brien who was left in the dust, heart crushed, wondering where she went wrong.

Both women met Brad Womack’s family, and even though the family liked both ladies, they better connected with Emily Maynard, which may have had some influence on Brad’s decision to chose her as his future wife-to-be.

After proposing to Emily Maynard, Brad Womack told his new fiancée: : “You made me the happiest guy, since the first time I met you. I have wanted to tell you ‘I love you,’ for so long. I mean this, Em, I want to spend my life with you.”

On The Bachelor Finale 2011: After the Rose, Chantal O’Brien got to explain her side of the story. Tears welled up in her eyes as she talked about believing Brad Womack was the one. Then, for the first time since leaving The Bachelor in South Africa, Brad and Chantal reunited. Brad made it pretty clear that he knew early on that Emily was the one, and that Chantal was more of a “cool” friend. When Brad failed to comfort Chantal, the tears flowed. “I feel like you’re discounting everything,” she cried.

Chantal was classy about Brad’s decision though. She told him,”I’m glad you’re happy.” Brad laughed and responded, “I hear you’re happy too!” And with that, they laughed. You see, Chantal has a man now, and IS happy.

I guess this means Chantal O’Brien most likely won’t be the next  Bachelorette. Her boyfriend, Jeff Razore, a high school coach in Bellevue, WA, is the new man in her life.  Chantal didn’t go into detail about her boyfriend, but she did say: “He’s definitely everything I have been looking for.”

Once Chantal was gone, Brad Womack gushed to The Bachelor‘s Chris Harrison about how much he was in love with Emily Maynard. When Emily came out, she told Chris, “Its certainly not all roses, but you know I’m very comfortable about how I feel about him. I really do love him.”

Chris Harrison asked Emily, “Do you still consider yourselves to be an engaged couple?” Emily looked at Brad and replied, “I do!” Brad smiled and said, “I was hoping you’d say that.”  Emily added that she and Brad have some stuff to work out before getting married though. “Could I move to Austin today? No,” she said.

Emily Maynard admitted that every Monday night when The Bachelor would air, she would have massive anxiety. It was hard for her, she said, to hear Brad saying the same things to other women that he had said to her. She thinks that now that The Bachelor is over that it will be easier to continue.

Brad Womack and Emily Maynard were set to marry on the day they taped The Bachelor Finale 2011: After the Rose, but Emily postponed the wedding until things play out further. However, they are working on it, and both only seem to have eyes for one another. Hopefully these kids will sort through it, they are a great couple. Brad Womack is one lucky man to have Emily Maynard. She is gorgeous, smart, thoughtful, sincere and laid back. I think he knows how special she is, too.

What do you think of The Bachelor finale of 2011, and Brad Womack’s decision to chose Emily Maynard over Chantal O’Brien?

I’m so glad he chose Emily…she appears to be the most classy, thoughtful, and sincere woman. I was hoping he would choose her and always felt she got the short end of the stick when it came to the selection of sleepy, boring dates, since Brad was wanting to test the waters to find a woman he could do fun things with as his wife (that is one of the reasons I thought he might pick Chantal over her and was pleasantly surprised when he didn’t…and I’m glad Emily mentioned this on the show).

Emily does seem to have some understandable hang-ups, so hopefully she can get past those and Brad can be patient with her as she slowly walks the walk through this relationship…it will take time after what she has been through. I believe these two will make a great couple if they can support each other, hold each other up, stick together and not let others interfere on any level.

Also, individual counseling for Emily may not be a bad idea, just to help her get past her initial fears to move forward (it is nothing at all to be ashamed of). In addition, couples counseling wouldn’t be a bad idea to assist in helping these two with laying the ground rules and boundaries which Emily seems to need, in order to feel comfortable moving in with Brad (understandably). Couples participate in premarital counseling all of the time before exchanging vows…this is something I’m certain Brad would be open to, as he has already embraced this as a part of his daily life…and look at the growth in him!!! Good luck Brad & Emily!

Emily is a smart and mature 24 year old! She knows not to rush into any marriage, no matter how much pressure the network puts on her, until the issues they have are discussed, worked through, and resolved. As she noted, she has a daughter to consider. She will marry Brad, if and when it’s right. All the very best to them.
