Wyclef Jean was shot in Haiti Saturday

Wyclef Jean was shot in the hand Saturday near Port-au-Prince the day before the country’s presidential elections are to take place.

The bullet reportedly only grazed Wyclef Jean’s hand, and no one seems to know where the shot came from or if Jean was the intended target. The shooting took place just as Wyclef Jean had exited his vehicle to take a phone call. He said he only noticed he had been shot after seeing blood on his clothes and shoes.

Jean’s publicist says he is recovering and no serious damage was done. “He’s fine now,” he said. “It happened late yesterday night and he was released after a couple hours.”

According to reports, Wyclef Jean botched the police investigation by refusing to cooperate with authorities after the incident. A little odd, don’t you think?

    I know this will come off as racist, but it’s just an observation: black people always complain that the police never help them, but when the police try to investigate – they always refuse to cooperate. It’s really bad where I am – police don’t have a crystal ball to pull info from, they have to gather info from witnesses. Didn’t mean to rant, I’ve just seen it a lot lately.
