Color Me Badd takes us back to 1991 with “I Wanna Sex You Up”
I Love the 90′s!
Ah yes, Color Me Badd, fronted by Bryan Abrams, the plucked, pointy eyebrow guy! He also had that weird French mustache that I never did like, and a DIY haircut. Hey, but that boy was super fly for 1991! Sad, but true.
The band looked like a motley crew of look-a-likes. Vanilla Ice, Kenny G, George Michael and the Saxophone player for the Dave Michaels Band (RIP).
Bryan Abrams, lead singer and eyebrow guy, has released a solo album since the band’s split and also has worked with various artists in the recording studio. So he’s keeping busy. He’s also keeping busy by beating up women! In 2008 he punched a woman in the nose and told her he was going to kill her, then in 2010 he threw his wife acress a room while in Hawaii. Fun times. Maybe they should have named the song, “I Wanna &*@# You Up!”

Kevin Thornton, the black guy, has released solo gospel albums, Mark Calderon, the George Michael guy, works for an insurance company in Ohio and the five-head Kenny G guy, Sam Watters, has perhaps been the most successful since leaving the band. Sam is a record producer who has worked with Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson and Jessica Simpson, to name a few. He also married former American Idol contestant Tamyra Gray in 2006. It’s always those nerdy ones that come out on top in the long run! Heh.
“I Wanna Sex You Up” reached #2 on the U.S. Billboard Charts and is a staple in 1990′s pop culture!
