Elizabeth Taylor’s funeral, late 15 minutes
Having the last laugh, Elizabeth Taylor requested that her funeral start 15 minutes after the scheduled time, as to be late to her own funeral.
The funeral of Dame Elizabeth Taylor took place Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, the same cemetery where her good friend Michael Jackson is buried. In fact, Elizabeth was interred in The Great Mausoleum near Jackson.
Elizabeth Taylor’s funeral was intimate, private and only her closest family and friends attended. The one hour service was officiated by Rabbi Jerry Cutler. Colin Farrell read the poem, “The Leaden Echo and the Golden Echo,” and Liz’s oldest son Michael Wilding and daughter Liza Todd and her grandson Tarquin Wilding all did readings as well. Another grandson Rhys Tivey played Amazing Grace on his trumpet.
Elizabeth Taylor died of congestive heart failure on March 24, 2011. She will be greatly missed.
