The new cover of bad boy Jesse James’ book, American Outlaw, has been released.

“My life has been defined by many things and not just the events of the last year.I just wanted [the memoir] to be a good story, a page-turner and hopefully people will see it as that,” James tells People magazine.

Jesse James opens up about his traumatic childhood, his past marriages and his professional life in American Outlaw. James opted for the old-time Western look for the book, and is brandishing his very own Colt .44 on the book’s back cover photo.

Despite the bad press he has gotten in the past, Jesse James says he’s not a bad guy. In fact, he says people really know nothing about who he really is. “People claim to know everything about me, when they actually know nothing. But once you read this, you will know everything – the whole story, right here.”
