FREE TRACK: Paloma Faith collaboration, “Desire”
Converse Inc. has released an original track, a collaboration between Paloma Faith, Graham Coxon and Bill Ryder-Jones, called “Desire.”
It’s a groovy little ditty, with a super cool retro feel to it. Lucky for us, the track is available for FREE download at http://play.converse.co.uk/?p=8337.
Graham Coxon, renowned for his remarkable guitar playing resplendent on Blur’s back catalogue, as well as his own solo output, comments on the creative process: “I’ve always liked the idea of me actually writing songs and women singing them, and I’d seen Paloma on TV before and thought, ‘Wow man, she’s crackers!’ And I was always a fan of The Coral – I used to watch them live. Bill’s a very good guitarist.”
Paloma adds: “Entering the studio is always a new and different experience and being able to work with such amazing artists as Graham, whom I have long respected, and Bill who is a huge talent, made this an opportunity I couldn’t wait to jump at. The end result is a piece of music which reflects the genuine excitement we had while creating the track and showcases the individual touches that we each contributed towards the single.”
“It was an awesome experience to work with Paloma and Graham,” says Bill Ryder-Jones. “The energy we all have together is evident in the new track and it’s a piece we are all proud to have been a part of and bring to life.”
Geoff Cottrill, Chief Marketing Officer of Converse comments: “Converse is dedicated to supporting artists, fans and the global music scene and we couldn’t be more excited to work with Paloma Faith, Graham Coxon and Bill Ryder-Jones – together they produced an absolutely amazing track. We’ve always been deeply committed to providing a platform to champion creativity and “Desire” which is the second track in our year-long Connectivity campaign truly shines a spotlight on the incomparable British music scene.”
