Wonder Woman TV Series Rejected. Whew!

The new Wonder Woman TV series has been rejected by NBC

I’m probably not the only one who was thrilled to hear that the new Wonder Woman TV series pilot has been axed by NBC.

As a HUGE fan of the original Wonder Woman television series with Lynda Carter, I was stunned that they cast Adrianne Palicki and then packed her into that cheesy, squeaky, ridiculous looking Wonder Woman outfit.

No specifics as to why the Wonder Woman pilot failed to please execs, but word is that the test screenings didn’t go so well. That, and everyone hates Adrianne Palicki’s rubber costume.

More on canceled/upcoming NBC shows:

Don Johnson’s return to TV in Mann’s World, a drama about a hairstylist, and the Civil War-era Western Reconstruction and Ron Moore’s magic cops drama 17th Precinct.
Also in the current NBC news-pocalypse pre-upfront frenzy: NBC has renewed Chuck for a final season, has cancelled The Event, greenlit Chelsea Handler’s sitcom and ordered dramas about Playboy and others.

Yes, I am thrilled that Wonder Woman did not get the green light. Adrianne was not right for the part, the wardrobe was atrocious and the entire thing was just not believable. Even thought Lynda Carter gave props to Adrianne and the show’s creator, David E. Kelley, I bet she’s breathing a sigh of relief as well. I think bringing back Wonder Woman could be a great thing, but this just was not the way to do it. Thank you, NBC!
