Dr. Drew on Jeff Conaway being in a coma: “I’m tired of having my patients die.”
Dr. Drew Pinsky took a few moments at the start of show, HLN, Thursday night, to mention the sad fact that actor Jeff Conaway, who has been treated by Dr. Drew on Celebrity Rehab, is in a coma due to an overdose.
On May 11th, Jeff Conaway allegedly attempted suicide by downing a bunch of prescription pain pills and nearly succeeded. Conaway slipped into a coma and has been completely unresponsive since. Not much is being said about his prognosis, all we keep hearing is that “it isn’t looking good.”
Meanwhile, the fighting between Jeff Conaway’s longtime girlfriend Vikki Lizzi and Jeff’s family has already erupted. Even though Vikki has power of attorney, Jeff’s sister, ex-wife and even Conaway’s attorney have filed a restraining order against Lizzi, keeping her away from the hospital – and away from Jeff Conaway.
I never have really liked Vikki Lizzi. I’ve known two people who were a lot like her and Jeff in real life, and Vikki’s intentions, I feel, are not, and have never been, good for Jeff Conaway and his addictions. The two people I knew are no longer around. I see this sad story ending very much the same way.
Vikki Lizzi is bad news. I got that vibe from her everytime I seen Jeff on Celebrity Rehab. I’m sure Dr. Drew is in the dumps with this and the death of Mike Starr. When is the entertainment industry gonna grow up and stay away from this sh*t?
I don’t like Vicki either. She seems like she is in the relationship to benefit her and her only.
