American Idol Winner Season 10 (2011) Winner: Scotty McCreery

American Idol Season 10 winner, Scotty McCreery

Country crooner Scotty McCreary is the American Idol winner for 2011, winning against fellow competitor, Lauren Alaina.

The North Carolina teenager came out on top of this year’s American Idol competition and is tied with American Idol Season 6 winner, Jordin Sparks, as being the youngest person to win the title of “American Idol.”

After he won, Scotty McCreary told Ryan Seacrest: “It’s been a year since me and Lauren Alaina tried out now. Me and her have been together since Day 1 and we’re gonna stay together and this is just – never in my wildest dreams…I gotta thank the Lord first, he got me here.”

So, American Idol fans, sound off! Are you happy that Scotty McCreery won over Lauren Alaina? Is there someone else you would have liked to see win? James Durbin is still my favorite from this American Idol season, no doubt. That kid can rock n’roll!
