Bentley Williams of The Bachelorette cradling Ashley Hebert
Bentley Williams, the smooth talking snake of this season’s The Bachelorette, exited the show last night using his daughter as an excuse. Problem was, his daughter had nothing to do with it.
Williams, who could possibly be the biggest douchebag to ever be on The Bachelorette, talked trash about Ashley Hebert the entire time he was on the show, while leading her on and pretending to like her. To the cameras he described Ashley as “unattractive” and “not my type,” but to her face he said she was beautiful. He also said, “Having her tickle my pickle, that’s like the extent in terms of my interest.” Then he went on to say Ashley Hebert is no Emily. (Last season’s The Bachelor winner.)
The worst part of his lies and deception is probably the way he used his daughter as an excuse to leave the show because he wasn’t man enough to come clean about his true intentions. A coward and a snake!
Ashley responded to last night’s show on her Bachlorette blog today saying:
“People may speculate I was attracted to the “bad boy,” or maybe they thought I wanted what I couldn’t have. The truth is that I always look for the good in people, and I saw that in him. I only knew what he showed me, and I felt it to be real at the time. I can tell you that from the bottom of my heart, I don’t remember ever feeling this depth of hurt and embarrassment. Unfortunately, it’s not the last you will see of Bentley.”
I haven’t read any spoilers, but that must mean Bentley Williams will be coming back on the show. Does he change his mind and come back for more tinkering with Ashley’s head? That’s my guess at this point. I’ll also go out on a limb and say that Ashley will accept him back with loving, eager arms. Argh.
If ever production had a hand in The Bachelorette/ The Bachelor, I think it might be this season. I know this is the case every season, but this entire season seems staged, awkward, predictable. The Bentley Williams drama seems almost scripted, no? And that ‘Roast’ of Ashley – set up for failure. It’s like producers are using Ashley Hebert as a puppet, putting her in these hurtful situations on purpose just to boost their ratings. Personally, I’m turned off.
Am I just over this show, or what? This season is terrible, and Bentley isn’t even a villain you can love to hate. This season’s The Bachelorette is literally so bad, that I DVR my way through it’s two hours in about 20 minutes. I literally cannot sit and watch it for that long anymore. In Bentley’s words, “I’d rather go swimming in pee.”
Any The Bachelorette fans out there want to throw in their two cents about this season? I am anxious to hear if you agree with me about this season being just – weird.
