Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed on HLN’s Joy Behar Show

There’s been a buzz going around that KISS front man Gene Simmons and his longtime girlfriend Shannon Tweed are on the rocks – but is it true?

Simmons and Tweed have been on a media tour, promoting the premiere of their reality show’s fourth season (Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels), and everywhere they go, they seem to be having issues. Shannon Tweed claims to be “tired” of Gene Simmons’ philandering ways, and says she is ready to move onto another chapter in her life. But is it all for show? To boost ratings? I think so.

On tonight’s Joy Behar Show, Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed keep the façade up, pretending to be on the verge of a split, then showing clips of their new show. At the end, Shannon walks off the set, pretending to be mad, leaving Gene to chat with Joy.

Ugh. It’s all just SO fake…just like Shannon’s lips. Dear lawd, girlfriend can’t even talk normally, her face is so tight. She sounds like she is slurring all the time.

I am pretty much over these two. I watched their show for the first two seasons, but I can’t stomach Gene’s narcissism and bragging, and Shannon’s “slurring” anymore. Anyhow, here’s the lame attempt at their publicity stunt:

They have been together for how long.. 25+ years, two kids and how many std’s, and she is just now getting tired of it? Am I the only one that thinks Gene would drop her in a hot minute if this were true?

Ratings make people do some real funny things and editors can make things seem not to be what really happened.

I loved this article! OMG – could not agree more about their latest money grubbing hoax. I used to watch the show as well but tired of it for the exact same reasons – sick and tired of Shannon’s inability to speak without slurring like she’s on something because she is unable to move her lips (upper one particularly); Gene’s constantly bragging; the kids senses of entitlement and privileges they not only don’t have to work for but clearly seem totally ungrateful for; I also hate the way Sohpie sits with her face in one direction only and keeps playing w/her hair so as to hide the birthmark on her face too. Guess what Sohpie? We all know it’s there – get over it! I can’t stomach the parts of the show where Shannon and her sister get together…they are soooo obnoxious. I think Gene supports the sister and her kids too. She seems to live very well, etc., and I don’t believe she has a real job. So, are Shannon and Gene over? Highly doubt it. They are both far to greedy and selfish.

Obviously faked. They ‘make up’ after Nick sings to them? Isn’t that one recycled from “I Love Lucy” in the 50s (and every other sitcom since)?

So Gene and Shannon go back to ‘the set’ (i.e., their ‘home’), make with the with the kissy-kissy, and hey next week Shannon even goes with him to rediscover his roots in Israel and everything’s all hunky-dory between them? THEN however many months later after it’s all in the can, she’s conveniently seething again just in time to promote the new season? Or do they think us poor dumb schmucks out here don’t realize the show was shot months before this current whirlwind of poorly-acted interviews and walk-offs?

Puh-lease! I think I spotted the Osbornes’ reincarnated dog in one shot….

And what kind of people prostitute a storyline portraying intimate family problems using their own identities AND those of their kids as the characters? Can you imagine the show prep on this trainwreck? “Now Sophie, in this scene you tell Gene if they split, you gotta go with Mom.” “OK Nick, this is a very special scene where Dad breaks the news to you.”

Uggh!

The appeal of this show has always been the affectionate interactions, and the possibility that a groupie magnet and a centerfold can have this normal of a life, family and kids. We all know the show takes artistic license here and there, like hitchhiker Gene getting a ride into Vegas from Carrot Top, or Gene doing the fish-out-of-water bit while camping (rejected line? “I’m tired of these monkey-fightin’ snakes on this Monday to Friday camper!”).

But that’s all kid’s stuff compared to this new turn. Pretending Gene loses his day planner, or gets snookered by a British promoter-wannabe, or drinks a concoction containing weeds from a New Orleans street corner to break a voodoo curse are all on one level. Faking a near-breakup, pulling the kids into it, taking it to another level by carrying the shtick into talk show interviews, all that is quite another animal indeed.

I predict this current ploy will anger and drive away the more loyal viewers. The sensational flash of it all may attract some others, but they’ll leave as quickly as they came, the ratings will nosedive, and A&E will just have to find another freak show.

Too bad. They were doing pretty good with the wholesome bit.

You know the show is entertainment is about all I can say about it. If they or she raised kids like what they portray as in show well their pretty level minded kids. As for how he is and her sticking with him for all those year. That is pretty much their business and women have done it for years. Keeping family together till kids move out the house may it be school or own apartment. Just part of the show, real what have you I figure it’s about time she leaves and doing it for that long for the kids basically and loving him if that’s the case well hell tell me how many know’s a women or themselves are doing the same thing or have done the same thing. I look at it for entertainment value when I can’t find anything else on of just because I want to see it. If it’s true applaud women who do it for so long just to keep family together, I couldn’t and didn’t being miserable isn’t what I do just for kids and family unit. I’m a believer that if mama not happy no ones happy.
